Chapter 133: Discovering Poachers
Chapter 133: Discovering Poachers
"Do you know about the influx of poaching gangs from the northern border of Donghuang Shuang?" Zhilin's voice was cold and questioning.
"I know, but I didn't participate." The other party's voice was very calm.
Zhilin's attitude softened slightly. Given this person's personality, he wouldn't deceive him. "Do me a favor."
The person on the other end of the phone said with interest: "Okay, but it seems like you can't bring me anything in return."
Zhilin fell silent for a long time before asking, "What do you want? I can agree to anything that's not too excessive."
Sakaki chuckled, "No need. Just remember to ask the Phoenix Emperor for a feather for me. As the boss, it's only natural for me to help my subordinates settle things."
"Help me block the retreat routes of those poaching gangs. None of them can escape." After hearing this answer, Zhilin felt relieved and expressed his needs.
The person on the other end of the phone said, "Sure!" and hung up.
Zhilin put his phone away, packed his luggage silently, picked up a pen, scratched the tip of the pen across the paper, wrote a few words, held down the note with the pen holder, and resolutely walked out of the house.
Not long after, Zhiyu walked into Zhilin's room, "Linlin, you..."
Seeing that there was no one in the room, Zhiyu was stunned at first. He stopped pushing the door and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.
Then he found the note lying on the table.
Zhiyu slowly picked up the note and read it word by word. Her brows gradually furrowed and a complicated expression appeared on her face.
"Grandpa, I'm going to Shuangbei, don't worry."
Zhiyu sighed helplessly, "This child is so disobedient."
After hesitating for a moment, Zhiyu put down the note, took out his mobile phone, and first contacted Yi Shilan to inform her that Zhilin was going to the northern border alone, hoping that the alliance could keep an eye on Zhilin's whereabouts there.
Then he called Zhiqing's number and told them Zhilin's impulsive act of following them to Shuangbei.
"Okay, I will do my best to ensure Linlin's safety." Zhiqing replied and hung up the phone in a hurry. It seemed that he was also very busy.
Zhiyu's eyes revealed deep worry, and he looked out the window from time to time. Now that things had come to this, this was all he could do, and the rest was up to fate and Zhilin himself.
......
At the edge of the snowy forest, the strong wind blew the heavy snow like goose feathers, and Zhilin's figure was looming in it.
Over his head, cross-bats were flying, following closely. Even the flying snow could not block the ultrasonic detection.
The ultrasound waves scanned every inch of the land below through the heavy, cotton-like snow, not missing any suspicious signs.
Soon, the cross-bat keenly caught a hint of abnormality.
In a snowy valley not far from them, there were some ruts and damaged vegetation. The ruts varied in depth, but all pointed in the same direction, toward the valley. The damaged vegetation lay scattered in the snow, some branches broken off, revealing pale stumps. Despite the heavy snow covering them, some fresher traces were still clearly detectable by the crossbats through ultrasonic feedback.
Zhilin's eyes flashed when he received the news from the Cross-bat. Based on the clues from the Cross-bat, those poachers were likely stationed in the Snow Valley.
Zhilin moved lightly towards the snow valley, carefully stepping on the areas with thicker snow with every step. The thick snow made a slight creaking sound under his feet, but it was drowned out by the whistling wind and could not be heard far away.
The Crossbat followed behind him tacitly, its eyes full of vigilance, ready to strike.
Zhilin approached the edge of the snow valley cautiously.
There were some discarded Pokémon catching tools scattered here, most of which had sharp barbs that gleamed coldly in the snow.
Once a Pokémon triggers these traps, it will be mercilessly scratched by these barbs.
Zhilin slowly squatted down, and snowflakes fell on his shoulders.
He reached out and picked up a barbed capture net. The cold touch passed through his fingertips, causing his hand to tremble slightly.
"These guys are simply insane!" Zhilin said gritting his teeth. The words that came out of his mouth turned into white mist and quickly dissipated in the cold air.
Just then, a slight noise echoed through the valley, muffled by the heavy snow. Zhilin, instantly alert, his expression grave. He signaled the crossbat to remain silent, then stalked toward the source of the sound with the nimbleness of a civet cat.
Zhilin's figure shuttled through the snow, using any object that could serve as cover to quietly approach the target.
He cautiously looked out from a snowy slope and saw a group of poachers busy in the depths of the valley. The heavy snow fell on their shoulders and hats, but they were completely unaware and were only focused on setting up a temporary camp.
Some simple but effective defensive facilities were set up around the camp. The obstacles built with wood and branches looked a bit abrupt in the snow.
There were also several poachers patrolling in thick cold-proof clothing. Their cold-proof clothing was covered with snowflakes and mud, and their exhaled breath formed a layer of white frost on their cold-proof masks.
In the middle of the camp, there are several huge cages half covered by snow, with many Pokémon locked inside, most of which are Glaceon, Glaceon, Glaceon Vulpix, and Frozen, which are high-value and easy-to-catch Pokémon.
The Pokémon had terrified looks in their eyes. They struggled desperately in the cage and let out bursts of wailing.
The Ice Dragon's graceful body huddled in a corner of its cage. Its crystal-clear scales bore several noticeable scratches, faint traces of blood staining the wounds, creating a stark contrast to its otherwise pristine white form. Its eyes, once bright, were filled with fear and despair, now dimmed.
Glaceon clung to the edge of the cage and tried to scratch it with its little claws, but the steel cage didn't move at all, leaving only a few bloody marks on its claws.
Ice Vulpix paced back and forth restlessly in the cage. Its six beautiful tails no longer swayed as lightly as usual, but seemed a little heavy and slow. The hair on its tail was a little tangled and mixed with some debris.
The Snow Hat Monster stood quietly in the center of the cage. There were many marks of beating on its body. Its originally round and cute appearance looked a little embarrassed. Its eyes were empty and desperate, like a pool of stagnant water, without any life at all.
Seeing the miserable state of these wild Pokémon, Zhilin's anger flared up again. He clenched his fists, his nails almost digging into his palms, leaving several deep crescent marks on his palms.
Zhilin took a deep breath, resisted the urge, and loosened his clenched fists. Now was not the time yet. With so many enemies, he could not do anything alone. He had to notify the alliance and catch these poachers in one fell swoop, making them pay a heavy price for their evil deeds.
