Chapter 547: Crossing the Sky Saint Forest

At this moment, Lin Feng sensed Chen Xiner's fear. He gently reached out and took her hand. Chen Xiner's body stiffened slightly, and her face instantly turned red, like a ripe apple. She subconsciously tried to break free, but Lin Feng's hand was warm and strong, making her feel strangely at ease. After hesitating for a moment, she let Lin Feng pull her forward.

Chen Yu saw this and was about to step forward to stop it, but when he saw that Chen Xin'er didn't show any resistance, he swallowed the words that were on the tip of his tongue. He scratched his head, feeling a little uncomfortable, but he couldn't explain why.

"Everyone, be careful, this area is quite dangerous." Su Yu suddenly reminded, his hand had quietly grasped the hilt of the sword, and his eyes were vigilantly observing the surroundings.

Everyone fell silent and moved forward cautiously. The forest was completely silent, with only the soft tread of their footsteps and their tense breathing to be heard. Occasionally, a few unknown birds would fly overhead, their sharp cries breaking the oppressive silence.

As he was walking, Chen Yu suddenly stopped, his face pale. "Look!" He pointed to the roadside with a trembling hand.

Everyone looked in the direction he pointed and saw the corpse of a massive demonic beast lying there. The beast was more than two men tall, covered in black scales, its claws sharp as knives, and its mouth still stabbed with sharp fangs. It had multiple wounds on its body, and the blood had dried, forming a large dark red pool on the ground.

"What kind of monster is this?" Chen Xiner asked in horror. She held Lin Feng's hand tightly, her body trembling slightly.

"This is a black-scaled beast, an extremely ferocious monster." Youlan explained with a frown, "It looks like a fierce battle just took place here."

"Are there other monsters nearby?" Chen Yu swallowed nervously, his hand also grasping his weapon.

"It's possible. Everyone, don't take it lightly." Su Yu's eyes revealed a hint of worry. He looked around, not missing any corner.

Lin Feng gently patted Chen Xiner's hand and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, I'm here." His voice was calm and firm, making Chen Xiner feel warm.

However, Chen Xiner's heartbeat remained high, her nerves tense, and her hands unconsciously tugged at the corners of her clothes. From time to time, strange animal cries could be heard in the forest, echoing in the silence with a chilling effect. Suddenly, a gigantic bird flew overhead, its wingspan more than two people wide, casting a shadow that instantly enveloped everyone. Chen Xiner subconsciously shrank her neck and leaned closer to Lin Feng.

"This...this is too big." Chen Xiner's voice trembled, and her eyes were full of fear.

Before she could recover, the nearby bushes swayed, and a giant snake, thicker than an adult's calf, slithered past. Its scales gleamed coldly in the sunlight, and its tongue hissed from time to time. Chen Xiner's eyes widened, her breathing quickening. She clutched Lin Feng's arm tightly, her knuckles white from the strain.

"Don't be afraid, it's just passing by." Lin Feng comforted softly and patted Chen Xiner's hand gently.

Chen Xiner swallowed hard, trying to calm herself down. She looked at Su Yu and You Lan's backs, hesitated for a moment, and finally mustered the courage to speak: "You two...?"

Su Yu and You Lan heard the voice, stopped, and turned to look at Chen Xiner. Su Yu said with a gentle smile on his face, "Miss Chen, just call me Su Yu and call her You Lan."

Chen Xiner glanced at the two of them, hesitated for a moment, and then asked, "Su Yu, why don't these animals, which are so big, attack people during the day?" Her eyes were full of confusion and her brows were slightly furrowed.

Su Yu patiently explained: "These animals all have one characteristic. Any particularly aggressive animal will basically only attack at night. During the day, as long as we don't provoke them, they will basically not pose a threat to us." As he spoke, he observed the movements around him to make sure that no danger was approaching.

Chen Xiner still didn't understand and continued to ask, "Is there anything special about this?" She tilted her head, looking curious, with a gleam of curiosity in her eyes.

Su Yu frowned slightly, thought for a moment, and said, "I can't explain it in detail, but the secret is in the depths of this forest." His eyes looked into the depths of the forest, which was shrouded in layers of fog, as if hiding countless unknown secrets.

Seeing Su Yu say this, Chen Xiner didn't want to ask any more questions. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. Seeing that Chen Xiner's mood had stabilized a little, Su Yu turned around and continued walking.

"Everyone, keep up and watch your step." Su Yu reminded everyone as he walked.

Chen Yu looked around warily, his hand always on the hilt of his sword, ready to respond to any emergency. His eyes were as sharp as a hawk's, scanning every corner. "This forest is full of strange things. Everyone, be careful," Chen Yu whispered, a hint of nervousness in his voice.

Lin Feng held Chen Xiner's hand tightly, giving her strength. His eyes were firm, and he kept a constant eye on the surroundings, guarding Chen Xiner. "Don't worry, I'm here," Lin Feng said softly, his voice soft but full of strength.

Chen Xiner nodded slightly, a warm feeling welling up in her heart. She looked at Lin Feng, her eyes full of dependence. "Well, I'm not afraid." Chen Xiner tried to calm herself down, took a deep breath, and took a firm step.

They continued their journey through the forest, the path beneath them bumpy and uneven, dotted with roots and jutting rocks. The trees around them grew taller and denser, blocking out the sun and making the forest interior even darker. Occasionally, a few rays of sunlight filtered through the branches, forming golden beams that illuminated their path.

Suddenly, a deep roar echoed from the front, reverberating through the forest and causing pain in the eardrums. Everyone stopped in their tracks, their nerves tense, and they looked warily in the direction of the sound. Su Yu and You Lan exchanged a glance, drew their weapons from their waists, and prepared for battle.

"What is it?" Chen Yu asked in a low voice, his eyes revealing tension and vigilance.

"I don't know. Don't make any noise for now and let's see what's going on." Su Yu said softly, his eyes fixed on the front, the sword in his hand trembling slightly, ready to attack at any time.

Everyone held their breath and waited quietly. After a long time, the sound gradually faded away, and the forest returned to peace. Su Yu and You Lan put away their weapons and breathed a sigh of relief.
