Chapter 430 New Readers Are Here Again
Chapter 430 New Readers Are Here Again
When they returned to the main cabin, they found the two children asleep, huddled together in one seat, with Maxi's arm protectively wrapped around his sister.
Looking at their calm faces, Arya suddenly felt a wave of exhaustion wash over her.
For the first time in six years, she was no longer the only protector.
“Rest,” Leon said softly. “It will take another twelve hours to reach the Land of Freedom. I’ll keep watch.”
Arya wanted to refuse, but her body had already automatically found a comfortable position to sit down.
In the last moments before she drifted off to sleep, she vaguely felt a blanket gently placed over her and the children.
This was the first time she had felt relaxed.
When Arya awoke again, the spaceship had already begun its landing process.
Outside the porthole was a beautiful planet, a mix of blue and green, with emerald-like islands dotting the vast ocean.
“Welcome to the Land of Freedom,” Leon’s voice came from the driver’s seat. “Its official name is PX-497, but the residents call it ‘Haven.’”
Maxi and Lila squeezed in front of the observation window, marveling at the sight before them.
"There!" Maxi suddenly pointed somewhere. "There's something glowing on the island!"
Leon smiled: "That's a Force Crystal vein, the only known natural deposit in the entire galaxy."
The spaceship landed smoothly on the largest island.
When the cabin door opened, a warm sea breeze carrying the scent of unfamiliar flowers rushed in.
Arya saw several people standing not far from the helipad—two humans, one Serian, and another race she had never seen before, with pale purple skin.
“Friends,” Leon introduced briefly, “exiles like myself.”
A purple-skinned man stepped forward; strangely, his eyes were entirely composed of shimmering starlight.
“Welcome, Aria Kos.” His voice was like a blend of many voices. “We anticipated your arrival.”
Arya looked at Leon warily: "You foresaw it?"
“Morin is the last survivor of the Prophet race,” Leon explained. “He can see the possible future.”
“And the children are key,” Maureen added, her starlight turning to Maxi and Lila, “the origin where blood ties and destinies intertwine.”
Maxi bravely stood in front of his sister: "Who are you?"
Maureen unexpectedly knelt down on one knee, looking the children in the eye: "I am your father's friend, little prince. I am also your teacher, if you are willing to learn."
"Teacher?" Lila asked curiously, "What can you teach us?"
“Control the light within you,” Maureen whispered, “so that it won’t harm those you love.”
Arya felt Leon's hand gently rest on her shoulder: "It's safe here, Arya. They can learn how to protect themselves."
As the sun sets, it drapes the island in a golden cloak.
Leon led them to a small house facing the sea, simple yet comfortable.
“They’ll stay here for now,” he said. “Starting tomorrow, Maureen will assess the children’s abilities, and then—”
“Then we’ll decide together,” Arya interrupted him. “No training will take place without my permission.”
Leon nodded: "Of course."
Maxi and Lila couldn't wait to explore their new surroundings, running in and out and excitedly reporting every discovery.
Looking at their carefree expressions, Aria suddenly realized that this was the first time the children had truly felt safe.
That evening, they lit a bonfire on the beach.
Leon clumsily but earnestly teaches Maxi how to grill interstellar sea bream, while Lila collects a bunch of shiny seashells, insisting on giving them to her father as a gift.
"Look, Mom!" Maxi ran over, holding up a burnt fish. "Dad said royalty all have to know how to do this!"
"Really?" Aria raised an eyebrow and looked at Leon.
Leon shrugged. "Well, maybe not the official curriculum. But my father—the late emperor—always said that a true leader should be self-sufficient."
His expression softened. "When I was ten, he took me on a week-long survival training trip in the forest. That's one of my most precious memories."
Under the starry sky, Leon begins to recount his childhood story—how he found joy in the strict royal upbringing, how he was once inseparable from his brother, and how they gradually drifted apart.
The children listened intently, and even Arya found herself drawn in.
After Maxie and Lila finally curled up asleep under the blankets, Leon whispered, "Thank you, Arya. Thank you for protecting them for so long."
Arya looked at Leon's profile illuminated by the campfire. The man she had briefly loved six years ago was now more mature, but the light in his eyes remained unchanged.
“We’re not safe yet, are we?” she asked softly.
Leon shook his head: "The people at the Academy of Sciences won't give up. But now, we have allies, we have shelter."
He looked at his sleeping children. "The most important thing is that we're together."
A shooting star streaked across the night sky.
Arya didn't know if this was a sign, but at this moment, on this distant planet, she allowed herself to have hope for the first time.
Perhaps this time it really will be a happy ending?
Lin Liuyi was unaware that her new reader had already encountered a domineering CEO who was pregnant with her child. She was currently deep in thought, looking at the two round little steamed buns in her hand.
"System, who is this reader this time? They actually tipped me two Want Want Little Buns, which isn't even enough for one bite."
As she spoke, she stuffed two Want Want mini steamed buns into her mouth at the same time.
Hmm, it really can be finished in one bite.
Meanwhile, in her new world, her new readers are handing out fruit to the people they like.
"Xuanxuan, these are your favorite strawberries. Look, I haven't eaten any; I saved them for you!" Little Mao Shuai tried his best to show the strawberries in his hand to a little girl.
"Thank you, Shuai Shuai!" The little girl blinked and accepted the strawberry.
Mao Shuai was overjoyed when he saw that Xuanxuan, whom he liked, had accepted the strawberries he had given her.
"You're welcome, you're welcome. If the teacher gives out strawberries again tomorrow, I'll save some for you!"
"it is good!"
"Xuanxuan, can I hold your hand?" Mao Shuai asked eagerly.
Zhao Zixuan shyly extended her hand, and Mao Shuai took his little goddess's hand, feeling so happy he almost fainted.
"Mom, I have to tell you, I held Xuanxuan's hand today!"
"Uh-huh!"
"She's so cute!"
"Uh-huh!"
"I'll give her my strawberries again next time!"
"Uh-huh!"
"Hmm? Mao Xiaoshuai, you're giving your fruit to other kids again!" Mao's mother noticed something was wrong with her son as she listened.
Goodness, so young and already a simp.
"Mommy, how can Xuanxuan be like other children! She's the best!"
"Okay, then we'll have stir-fried green peppers tonight!"
"Mom! I don't want to eat green peppers, I hate green peppers!" Mao Shuaishuai said unhappily.
"Oh, I heard that Xuanxuan loves green peppers the most!" Mom said simply.
Mao Shuaishuai, who was about to throw a tantrum, fell silent.
