Chapter 243 Paladin 7
Chapter 243 Paladin 7
“Lucius, don’t worry.”
The woman's long, beautiful fingers ran through the man's golden hair, gently soothing his agitated emotions.
She gazed at the handsome, tall man, who was as radiant as the sun, her red eyes filled with infatuation.
“Lucius…” Her voice trailed off as she reached out to kiss the blond hair that fascinated her.
"Who?" Just before he could touch that captivating golden hair, an unusual wind suddenly blew through the empty palace, instantly putting the Lava Lord on alert.
The flames instantly filled the entire hall, burning fiercely and revealing the invaders' figures.
The raging fire, capable of burning through the air, never elicited a single cry of pain from the invaders.
The Lava Lord's pupils constricted as he watched a dark figure slowly emerge from the flames.
"How dare you! Do you really think I wouldn't kill someone..." She coldly stared at the tall figure draped in a cloak. The raging fire transformed into a ferocious python, but suddenly dissipated in the next moment.
The black cloak was slowly removed by a pair of large, snow-white hands, revealing the demon beneath.
The demon had elaborate and ornate horns and deep purple eyes, which were even redder than the blood river flowing in the demon palace.
The moment his gaze fell upon him, the Lava Lord abruptly knelt down, pressing his head against the ground.
Her two horns, cherished by the demons, pressed tightly against the ground, proclaiming her submission: "Your Majesty."
Sereos didn't speak, he just kept moving forward step by step.
The sound of shoes hitting the ground echoed rhythmically in the hall, each sound like a hammer blow to the heart of the Lava Lord. After three steps, her blood had dried up, and magma was faintly flowing in her body. She was about to turn into the magma form of her childhood self.
Even though she was stripped of her power, she dared not make the slightest move, much less cry out in pain, and simply let the demons do as they pleased.
Sereos let her turn into lava beneath his feet, scorching deep holes in the palace, and walked straight toward the blond man.
"What's your name?" His voice was eerily gentle compared to his overwhelmingly terrifying aura.
Lucius's azure pupils nearly froze, and his voice was strained: "Lucius Lyle, my lord, that is my name."
"Did you come here willingly?" The lava beneath his feet stirred because of his actions, but he shattered it with a single step.
“Yes, sir.” Lucius straightened his back slowly, revealing the demeanor befitting a holy son. “I dislike the Church of Light and hate its overly strict rules. It was I who requested the Lava Lord to bring me here.”
Sereos's purple eyes were devoid of any emotion. He chuckled and said "Interesting" before continuing, "Then do you know that someone is after you?"
“My lord, I know.” A ripple flashed in Lucius’s eyes: “It is Elsop Norma, the chief paladin of the Holy See.”
He was a fanatical believer who fervently revered the Church of Light and would not tolerate anything that tainted the light. Lucius was born rebellious and did not like such a person.
"So that's her name? It's not nice." Sereos muttered to himself, then asked softly, "So, if she captures you, or kills you, will she immediately return to the Church of Light?"
"Yes...yes." Under the pressure of the Demon King's aura, Lucius's breath became much weaker, and his voice began to become incoherent.
"Is it possible that I won't go back?" A look of anticipation flashed in Sereos's purple eyes.
“Impossible, sir.” Lucius seemed to have thought of something, a ripple flashing in his eyes: “She is the most loyal believer in the light, and the only meaning of her existence is to spread the light. Nothing can stop her from fighting for this.”
Perhaps sensing the danger to her life and desperately trying to survive, or perhaps because Lucius believed that paladins were inherently like that, he spoke with unusual firmness: "As long as she completes the mission of the Papacy, she will immediately return to the Pope's side and wait to offer her loyalty to the Papacy again."
"Is that so?" The black aura that had been wrapped around Lucius's neck dissipated with regret, and Celeos murmured, "Then I can't kill you. What a pity."
He knew that Ling Yi possessed a treasure that could chase Lucius, and if Lucius died, she would know immediately.
She will go back then.
Sighing and touching his face, Sereos lamented, "It's such a pity that we still can't get her to stay willingly."
Lucius dared not utter a word while he was thinking, and simply lowered his eyes to await the outcome.
Life or death is determined by a single thought.
boom……
The black boots touched the ground lightly, yet the entire earth trembled.
The flowing lava instantly transformed into human form with the tremor, and the lava lord's horns pressed even more obediently to the ground: "Your Majesty, I am ready to serve you at any time."
Sereos said lazily, "Take him and hide here for now. Find time to go to the royal city, and don't let anyone see your whereabouts."
"As you command, may you bless the demon realm," the Lava Lord replied immediately, his voice still carrying a trace of lingering fear.
The person standing in the hall seemed to let out a soft laugh before vanishing instantly.
"Lucius." The Lava Lord instantly stood up, rushed to Lucius's side, and checked his injuries: "Are you alright?"
Lucius clutched his neck and shook his head with difficulty.
After leaving the Church of Light, he was stripped of all his magical seeds and is now as vulnerable as an ordinary human.
When his neck was being wrapped, he heard the sound of bones cracking and almost thought he was going to die there, but thankfully...
Elshorp...
Is it because of her?
What does someone like that have to do with that powerful guy?
"Chesia, is that your Demon King?" he asked with a hoarse voice, only to see the Lava Lord suddenly cover his face, the force of which even left bruises on his face.
“Listen, Lucius.” The Lava Lord’s voice was more serious than ever before: “Don’t imagine that person’s existence, don’t mention that name, and don’t try to challenge his authority, or no one can save you.”
Lucius could hear the terror emanating from her as she spoke; even her hands were trembling.
He stared blankly at Cheshia, at the figure that had reappeared behind her, blinking violently as if trying to remind her.
"It is an honor to be so valued by the Lava Lord." The gentle voice, tinged with a smile, instantly terrified the Lava Lord, causing him to kneel on the ground.
With her back to Sereos, her voice resonated with the ground: "Your Majesty..."
“I remember you have a few bred Gulu beasts,” Celeos said, not continuing the topic, “but I need to be a Gulu beast keeper. You’ll have to give them to me and tell all the creatures not to go near there.”
He asked gently, "Is that alright?"
"As you wish." The Lava Lord dared not think about why Celeos did this, and simply agreed to his request with trembling hands.
Having received a response, Celeos disappeared again, but the Lava Lord dared not stand up for a long time.
Half an hour later, she asked softly, "Have they left?"
“Mmm,” Lucius responded softly.
The Lava Lord finally breathed a sigh of relief and stood up, muttering to himself, "Why did this have to happen..."
She glanced around warily halfway through her sentence and swallowed her words back.
Lucius stared blankly at the empty hall for a while, then murmured, "Perhaps he wanted to give the Gollum Beast as a gift to someone, and the person he was giving the gift to was just someone who didn't want a gift that was stolen or obtained through fraud."
"Lucius, what nonsense are you talking about?" the Lava Lord asked, puzzled.
