Chapter 697 Goblin
Chapter 697 Goblin
"What would you like to order?"
Lu Yangyang spoke with a smile.
The bandit leader finally snapped out of his daze, his infatuated expression vanishing as he stared intently at her. "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
Lu Yangyang chuckled.
"What are you laughing at?" the bandit asked sharply.
"I just think it's kind of funny that you robbers would ask such a question." Lu Yangyang tilted her head and looked at them. "I've been waiting for you. I heard you were looking for a doctor. I am a doctor. Shall we leave now?"
"You..." The bandit's expression changed slightly. For a moment, he was confused about Lu Yangyang's tactics, so much so that he forgot to make a move. He stood there staring intently at Lu Yangyang, trying to figure out her intentions.
"You came back, so you must be back to get the medicine, right? If you're in such a hurry, why are you dawdling? Don't you need a doctor anymore?" Lu Yangyang asked curiously.
"You're a government official!" The bandit seemed to suddenly realize something and immediately became alert. The men who had come in with him also quickly gripped their weapons, staring intently at Lu Yangyang, ready to attack at any moment.
“If I were an official, would you still have the chance to openly barge into this place?” Lu Yangyang smiled. “I’ve already said, I’m just a doctor. I can’t bear to see patients suffer. I came here specifically to help you because I knew you were in trouble.”
Her words made the bandits' expressions even stranger.
One of the bandits cautiously tugged at the leader's sleeve and whispered, "Brother Mang, this little girl seems a bit off?"
An ordinary woman would have been terrified upon learning their identities.
That's definitely not normal.
But what she said seemed to make a lot of sense.
If they were afraid of the government, they wouldn't be so openly robbing people and things in the village. So they don't care about the government at all!
Besides, this young woman is all alone, and she's a doctor. What kind of trouble could she possibly cause?
But surely we can't really be waiting to serve them out of kindness, can we?
This feels so fake.
The bandits all felt that Lu Yangyang was suspicious and very strange, but faced with such a beauty, they couldn't help but feel a little itchy.
"Brother Mang, why do you care about her? She's all alone, what can she do? Let's take her back, and then we can decide what to do with her," the subordinate suggested to Brother Mang.
Mang Ge stared at Lu Yangyang's excessively beautiful face, feeling an irresistible itch in his heart.
Indeed, if he were to let such a beauty go, he wouldn't be able to sleep at night.
Whether she was genuinely kind or had ulterior motives, once she arrived at their place, it was no longer up to her.
"Take him away!" Brother Mang made the decision immediately.
Several bandits immediately surrounded Lu Yangyang.
“You don’t need to be so nervous. I’m going back with you willingly,” Lu Yangyang said kindly, pointing to the medicine basket in the yard. “What kind of medicinal herbs do you need? Do you need any help?”
"No need!" The bandit immediately rejected her suggestion.
"Follow us!"
Several people surrounded Lu Yangyang and escorted her to the door, leaving two bandits to pack up the medicinal herbs.
Several horses were parked in the large open space in front of the courtyard. They were all plump and strong, and were obviously good horses!
Lu Yangyang casually picked up a horse, flipped herself onto it, and pulled on the reins. "I'm not used to riding with others. Give this one to me, and you can distribute the rest yourselves."
The bandit's expression turned strange again, and he couldn't help but whisper, "Why is she being so informal?"
I've seen bold people, but I've never seen anyone this bold.
"Could there be an ambush?" someone asked, worried.
"What are you afraid of? There are people outside our village. What kind of people could possibly hide in this village!"
"Stop talking nonsense and get ready to leave!" Mang Ge glanced at Lu Yangyang and shouted at his men.
The group dared not discuss it further, but out of caution, they still surrounded Lu Yangyang in the center.
Lu Yangyang wasn't in a hurry. She waited until they had packed the medicinal herbs and mounted their horses before urging them, "Let's go!"
Mang Ge sat on his horse, staring at her for a moment, then turned his head and glanced at the overly quiet village in the torchlight. His gaze vaguely caught a pair of frightened and nervous eyes peeking out from the crack of a door that wasn't completely closed in the distance.
It's still those incompetent villagers.
It doesn't look like there's an ambush.
The woman's appearance was just too strange.
"Let's go!" Mang Ge shouted, temporarily suppressing the strangeness in his heart. If there really was an ambush in the village, then they would leave the village first. Once they entered Huangshadu, it would be their territory, and no matter how capable this woman was, she wouldn't be able to escape.
As soon as Mang Ge's horse moved, several more horses galloped out from elsewhere, forming a group of about twenty or thirty people, each armed with weapons. They quickly surrounded Lu Yangyang and sped away from the village.
Not long after leaving the village, they soon arrived near Huangsha Ferry. Mang Ge stopped, beckoned to someone, and whispered, "No tail, right?"
The man shook his head. "No."
Mang Ge looked at Lu Yangyang riding ahead with some uncertainty and muttered to himself, "Could it be that I'm overthinking it? Just who is this woman, that she's so kind?"
"Hehe, maybe she's taken a fancy to you, Brother Mang!" the subordinate chuckled.
Mang Ge raised his hand and slapped him on the head. "Use your brain, this little girl doesn't look like an ordinary person. How could an ordinary person look like this?"
His subordinates wholeheartedly agreed, "It couldn't possibly be a fairy, could it?"
"Tch, even if she's a fairy, she can't escape our boss's grasp. If it weren't for treating that pretty boy's injuries, we wouldn't have gone through all this trouble!" another subordinate said.
"Brother Mang, what kind of taste does the boss have? She was chasing after that young general from the Northwest like her life depended on it, and now she's picked up some injured pretty boy from somewhere. If you ask me, none of them can compare to you, Brother Mang. You've been through thick and thin with the boss. Even if she had to choose, she should choose you!"
"Shut up! Is it any of your business to discuss the boss's affairs?" Mang Ge glared at them, and the two bandits immediately shut up.
Mang Ge's gaze fell on Lu Yangyang's back in front of him. The girl's long hair was tied up in a high ponytail, swaying in the night wind, making her look like a bewitching fairy. But when he thought of the person in his heart, it didn't seem so strange.
as big as World, nothing is nonexistent.
Lu Yangyang heard several people whispering something from a distance, but because they were some distance away, she couldn't hear clearly. She could only vaguely hear the words "boss" and "pretty boy".
Tsk, it seems this bandit organization is quite large.
Huangshadu is located next to the desert, and yellow sand fills the sky all day long, hence the name Huangshadu (Yellow Sand Ferry). It is a vast and confusing place where you can easily lose your way if you are not careful.
Lu Yangyang rode with them in the night wind for about two hours. Behind a mountain, as the sky began to lighten, she vaguely saw an oasis.
