Chapter 231 The Hidden Passage.
Chapter 231 The Hidden Passage.
Jun Luochuan and Su Yao were on edge, their eyes blazing as they nervously watched the slowly opening stone coffin. The putrid stench, like a ferocious beast baring its fangs, grew increasingly intense, threatening to devour them.
Just as they were fully focused and on high alert, preparing to deal with the unknown dangers that might emerge from the stone coffin, Su Yao suddenly noticed something unusual, as if she had discovered a new continent.
"Jun Luochuan, look at that wall over there, something seems off." Su Yao widened her bright, black gem-like eyes, her finger trembling as she pointed to a section of the wall next to the stone coffin. Her voice trembled slightly, as if carried by a cold wind.
Upon hearing this, Jun Luochuan immediately looked in the direction she was pointing. He saw that the texture of that wall resembled a winding stream, which seemed out of place compared to the smooth and flat walls around it, creating a rather peculiar scene.
"Could this be..." A bold guess surged in Jun Luochuan's mind, like a pebble thrown into a calm lake, creating ripples. He walked forward with steady steps, gently touching the wall with his hand, his careful movements as if he were caressing a priceless treasure.
Just then, a faint light suddenly appeared on the wall, like a thin veil, gentle and mysterious. Within the light, some mysterious power seemed to flow gently, like a stream hidden in the shadows.
“There’s definitely something wrong with this.” Jun Luochuan’s eyes instantly sharpened like swords, as if they could pierce through the mysterious light and see the truth hidden behind it.
He observed the changes in the light with great concentration and discovered that the light gradually converged along some fine, hair-like lines, forming a faint, dreamlike pattern.
"It looks like a mechanism." Su Yao curiously approached, looking like a kitten attracted by something new, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Jun Luochuan nodded slightly, his movements slow yet firm, like a wise sage with a well-thought-out plan. Then, he began to carefully study this mysterious and unpredictable mechanism.
After a period of arduous exploration, Jun Luochuan finally found the key to activating the mechanism amidst the dense fog. A deep rumble, like muffled thunder, resounded, and the wall slowly moved, as if a long-dormant giant were slowly opening its eyes, revealing a passage hidden in the darkness.
"Wow, there really is a passage!" Su Yao exclaimed excitedly, her voice as clear and cheerful as the first birdsong of dawn.
Jun Luochuan cautiously looked into the passage, which was filled with thick, inky darkness, like a boundless maw, making it impossible to see what lay hidden ahead.
"Be careful, there might be danger inside." Jun Luochuan said solemnly, like a general facing battle.
Su Yao, however, didn't care at all. With her hands on her hips and chin raised, she said, "What's there to be afraid of? You're here! You're my hero!"
The two resolutely stepped into the passage, and an old, ghostly aura rushed towards them. The passage was extremely narrow, like a winding snake path, barely allowing the two to pass side by side.
"This place feels so oppressive," Su Yao muttered, her voice sounding muffled and suppressed, as if squeezed into a small space.
Jun Luochuan remained silent, his hand gripping his weapon tightly, the weapon gleaming coldly in the darkness, mirroring his unwavering resolve. His gaze warily swept across his surroundings, ready to guard against any sudden danger.
As they walked, they discovered strange symbols and patterns carved on the walls of the passage. The symbols resembled mysterious incantations, while the patterns looked like ancient totems, exuding an enigmatic aura.
"What are these?" Su Yao asked, tilting her head, her expression full of doubt and curiosity.
Jun Luochuan shook his head, his brows furrowed. "I don't know either, but I have a feeling it's anything but simple. There must be some unknown secret hidden behind this."
Suddenly, a faint sound of footsteps echoed through the passage, a sound that seemed like the prelude to death, exceptionally clear in the silent corridor...
