Chapter 219 Exploration of the Ruins.
Chapter 219 Exploration of the Ruins.
Jun Luochuan and Su Yao stood timidly at the entrance of this mysterious ruin, like two fledglings about to step into an unknown abyss. Their hearts were pounding with a mixture of nervousness and anticipation, as if they were carrying two lively rabbits inside them. The deep roar, like the howl of a demon from hell, still echoed in their ears, like a cold snake tightly coiling around their nerves, making every hair on their heads stand on end.
"Jun Luochuan, I'm a little scared." Su Yao gripped Jun Luochuan's clothes tightly, her voice trembling slightly, like a leaf falling in the autumn wind. Her eyes were filled with fear, as if endless darkness lurked within them.
Jun Luochuan gave a soft snort, his voice like a cold winter wind. "What are you afraid of? I'm here. As long as I have a breath left, I won't let you get hurt in the slightest." His gaze was firm and resolute, like a burning torch.
They trudged cautiously into the labyrinthine ruins. It was dark and damp, filled with a musty, nauseating stench, like the decaying memories of time itself. Moss crawled across the walls, like the greedy claws of a green demon reaching into every corner; the ground was puddles and pebbles, each step requiring utmost care, as if walking on a tightrope riddled with traps.
"Watch your step, this place won't be kind to us," Jun Luochuan warned, his voice low and serious, like a warning bell.
Su Yao nodded vigorously, her head bobbing like a rattle drum, following closely behind Jun Luochuan as if he were her only lighthouse in the darkness.
Suddenly, a giant bat, like a black ghost, swooped down overhead. Su Yao screamed in fright, her voice seeming to pierce the oppressive darkness and reach the heavens.
"Shut up! Don't yell like a coward. You'll only attract more unknown dangers." Jun Luochuan scolded in a low voice, his eyes filled with anger and worry.
Su Yao pouted, her lips so pouting they could hang an oil bottle on them, but she didn't dare make a sound and just obediently followed behind.
They continued groping forward, like blind people searching for light in the darkness. Finally, they came to a hall as spacious as a giant's palace. In the center of the hall stood a colossal statue, its face blurred by the erosion of time, yet its weathered outline still exuded an aura of majestic grandeur, as if it had once overlooked the world.
"This statue looks so mysterious," Su Yao whispered, her voice full of curiosity, like a child who had discovered a new and interesting toy.
Jun Luochuan did not respond; his gaze was like that of a sharp eagle, carefully observing every detail around the statue.
Just then, torches suddenly lit up the surrounding walls, their light like the eyes of a suddenly awakened beast, instantly illuminating the entire hall.
"What's going on?" Su Yao asked in surprise, her voice filled with fear and confusion.
Jun Luochuan frowned deeply, his brows resembling two intertwined ropes. "Be careful, there are traps. This place isn't simple; every step could be a matter of life and death."
Before the words were even finished, the ground began to tremble violently, as if the earth were roaring in anger. Cracks, like gaping maws, rapidly spread across the ground...
