Chapter 455 Li Wangchen
Chapter 455 Li Wangchen
In the blink of an eye, time flows by like water.
After Li Xiaoyun finished her postpartum confinement, her complexion gradually became rosy again.
For the past month, Li Xiangyang has been taking care of his wife and children almost every step of the way, handling all the household affairs single-handedly.
However, they were troubled by the child's name. He and his wife came up with several names, but his mother didn't think they were good. Unable to come up with a good name, Li Xiangyang finally had to ask Wang Jingyun for help.
Knowing that Li Xiangyang had come to name his son, he said seriously, "This is a big deal, we need to be careful. Tell me first, what are your expectations for your child?"
Li Xiangyang thought for a moment and said earnestly, "I hope he can grow up healthy and become an upright, brave, and responsible person in the future, able to make a name for himself."
Wang Jingyun pondered for a moment, then suddenly his eyes lit up: "I have an idea. Children are the hope of the new era, and their future will surely be even brighter."
He walked to his desk, picked up his pen, and wrote two large characters: "望辰" (Wang Chen).
"Li Wangchen, 'Wang' means hope or expectation; 'Chen' means 'tremor.' In the third month, the yang energy stirs, thunder and lightning vibrate, it is the time for farmers to work. All things are born. By extension, all things sprout and grow in the midst of vibration, a process from nothing to something, from the old to the new. What do you think of this name?"
"Li Wangchen...Li Wangchen...That's wonderful! This name has a profound meaning and is easy to pronounce. Thank you, Uncle Wang!" Li Xiangyang murmured a few times, praising sincerely.
Wang Jingyun smiled and patted him on the shoulder: "Okay, as long as you're satisfied, then I wish Xiao Wangchen can travel across mountains and rivers and see all the wonders of the world in this great new era."
"Then it's settled, the child will be named Li Wangchen!" Li Xiangyang said excitedly.
"When are you going to bring the child to see him? Wang Ying and I both want to meet him," Wang Jingyun asked with a smile.
"After Xiaoyun rests for a few more days, I'll bring them to see you," Li Xiangyang said happily.
Back home, Li Xiangyang told his family about the name Wang Jingyun had given him.
"Li Wangchen?" Li's mother repeated it several times, her eyes growing brighter and brighter. "What a wonderful name! Looking towards tomorrow, welcoming a new life, how hopeful!"
Li Xiaoyun smiled and said, "Wang Chen... just hearing his name fills me with hope. I believe our child will definitely amount to something in the future."
Li Xiaohua, standing to the side, said with a grin, "Then I'll call him Xiao Chen from now on!"
And so, the child's name was decided—Li Wangchen.
A few days later, after the baby's one-month celebration, Li Xiangyang suggested taking his wife and child back to her parents' home for a visit.
"Xiaoyun, how about we take Wangchen back to your home tomorrow? Your parents must be really looking forward to seeing their grandson." Li Xiangyang asked, gently rocking the child in his arms.
Li Xiaoyun's eyes lit up: "Great! I miss my parents too. They must really want to see Wangchen."
Li's mother chimed in, "It's time to go back and visit, to make your parents happy too."
The next morning, Li Xiangyang bought a train ticket and headed to Li Xiaoyun's parents' home.
"Dad, Mom, we're back!"
As soon as the family arrived home, Li Xiaoyun excitedly shouted.
As soon as the door opened, Li's mother rushed out to greet them. Her eyes lit up the moment she saw her daughter's little grandson in her arms: "Oh my, let me see him!"
Mother Li excitedly took the child, carefully cradling him in her arms, her eyes filled with love: "Oh my, he looks just like Xiangyang! Those eyebrows, those eyes, they're practically identical!"
Father Li put down his work and hurried out. Looking at his little grandson, the wrinkles on his face smoothed out: "Good, good! So beautiful!"
Li Xiangyang respectfully called out, "Father, Mother."
Father Li patted Li Xiangyang on the shoulder: "Good lad, you've got potential! Come on in, come on in!"
Once inside, Mother Li busied herself preparing the meal, frying eggs and stewing chicken soup, keeping herself very busy.
Father Li held his little grandson, unable to put him down, and kept making the child laugh: "Oh my, this child is so smart, look, he's smiling at his grandpa!"
Soon the food was served, and the family chatted and laughed, enjoying a harmonious time together.
After dinner, Li's mother tidied up a clean room for her daughter: "Stay here tonight, and go back tomorrow."
It was late at night. Li Xiaoyun and Li Xiangyang were lying on the kang (a heated brick bed), and Xiao Wangchen was sleeping between them.
“Look how soundly he’s sleeping,” Li Xiangyang said softly, his eyes full of love.
Li Xiaoyun nodded and gently took her husband's hand: "Xiangyang, thank you for giving me such a happy family."
Li Xiangyang looked at his wife with deep affection: "I should be thanking you, Xiaoyun. Meeting you has been the greatest fortune of my life since I came into this world."
"He just smiled, did you see it?" Li Xiaoyun suddenly whispered.
Li Xiangyang leaned closer and saw that his son's little mouth was slightly upturned, as if he was really smiling.
"He's definitely having a good dream," Li Xiangyang said with a smile. "When he grows up, I'm going to take him to see a bigger world."
Li Xiaoyun rested her head on her husband's shoulder: "I believe that with a father like you, Wangchen will definitely become an extraordinary person."
"I just hope he's healthy and happy," Li Xiangyang said softly.
The next morning, Li's mother got up early to prepare breakfast, and specially made egg pancakes and millet porridge, which Xiaoyun liked.
After breakfast, Li Xiangyang said it was time to go back to the village: "Dad, Mom, we have to go back; there are still many things to take care of at home."
Father Li nodded: "Alright, you can go back now. Your mother and I will come to visit you another day."
Before leaving, Li's mother handed Li Xiaoyun a bundle: "Inside are some little clothes I made for Wangchen, and some tonics. Take them with you."
Li Xiaoyun took the bundle, her eyes slightly moist. "Thank you, Mother."
Father Li patted Li Xiangyang on the shoulder: "Take good care of them, mother and son. Let me know if you need any help."
Li Xiangyang nodded solemnly: "Dad, don't worry."
After staying at the Li family's house for three days, Li Xiangyang and Li Xiaoyun felt it was time to return to their village. During these days, Li's parents cooked all the delicious food they could find, and Li Xiaoyun's sisters also came to visit the children, bringing them many small clothes and toys.
"Dad, Mom, let's go back tomorrow. There are still a lot of things to take care of at home," Li Xiangyang said to his parents-in-law.
Mother Li was a little reluctant: "Stay a few more days, your wife hasn't fully recovered from her postpartum confinement yet."
Li Xiaoyun smiled and said, "Mom, I'm much better now. Xiangyang is taking very good care of me. Besides, Grandma and Xiaohua in our village can help, so don't worry."
"Well... alright then." Mother Li finally agreed, but still cautioned, "Xiao Chen is still young, so please be careful on the road."
Father Li patted Li Xiangyang on the shoulder: "Xiangyang, you're the head of the family now, and your responsibilities are much greater."
"Dad, don't worry, I will take good care of Xiaoyun and the child," Li Xiangyang said earnestly.
The next morning, Mr. and Mrs. Li saw them off at the train station. Mrs. Li kissed little Wangchen's cheek tenderly, saying, "My dear grandson, come see Grandma again next time."
Once in the car, Li Xiaoyun kept waving out the window until her parents' figures disappeared from sight. She sighed and leaned on Li Xiangyang's shoulder: "I really hate to leave them."
Li Xiangyang gently comforted him, "When the child is a little older, we'll bring him back to visit often."
The train slowly started moving. There weren't many people in the carriage, and Li Wangchen was sleeping peacefully in his mother's arms.
