Chapter 283 Studying Hard
Chapter 283 Studying Hard
I wonder if my dear readers will ponder a question after reading these chapters of my novel recently?
That is why children in the 1970s and 80s did not need their parents to worry about their studies.
They are not only very self-disciplined in their studies, but also help their parents with household chores in their spare time.
Why do parents have to worry so much about their children's studies these days? They're willing to go to any lengths to make their children "super achievers."
Some children may still be at an age where they need to be held and pampered all the time, but their parents send them to all sorts of tutoring classes.
The reason why parents do this is that they don't want their children to lose at the starting line.
This is why many parents, even those with modest means, still tighten their belts to send their children to expensive tutoring classes.
That's because today's parents have all experienced the hardships of life! They've experienced the hardship of not studying hard enough when they were in school.
Perhaps they would lean against their beds in the quiet of the night and think, "If I had studied harder back then, maybe I would have a very good job now."
But when we were young, our family was very poor and often didn't know where our next meal would come from. How could we have spare money to support our education?
Moreover, even if there were enough money to send us children to school, the boys in the family would be prioritized first. Only then would they consider us girls.
But that was a long time ago! It's not worth mentioning now. The most important thing is to raise my darling to be a college student.
When he/she grows up, he/she will have a very good job! Unlike his/her parents, who are busy all day long for a few coins.
Even with all that hard work, you might not be able to save a penny at the end of the year. That's because a lot of the family's money goes towards paying for all sorts of tutoring classes for their child.
Hi! I don't know if all those tutoring classes I enrolled my child in are even useful. What if my child's grades still don't improve after attending all these expensive classes?
Doesn't that mean all the money I spent on tutoring classes was wasted? That money was earned through my relentless overtime work!
If I had known it would turn out this way, I wouldn't have impulsively enrolled my child in such an expensive tutoring class.
But if I hadn't enrolled my child in that expensive tutoring class, would their grades have dropped because of it?
The child's mother was tossing and turning at night, unable to sleep because of the dilemma of whether or not to enroll her child in tutoring classes.
However, she had no idea that the darling she was talking about was playing video games under the covers!
The reason this child plays video games in bed late at night is because he/she is busy attending various tutoring classes during the day.
Perhaps they simply cannot understand how wonderful childhood is described in Chinese textbooks. That's because the time that children should be spending playing and having fun is filled with all sorts of tutoring classes.
Perhaps they don't look forward to the two-month summer vacation like children in the 70s and 80s. That's because even during the summer vacation, their time is filled with all sorts of tutoring classes.
So in their eyes, whether or not there is a summer vacation doesn't really matter! It's just a matter of changing the location of classes!
However, there are still some differences between summer vacation and school! That is, once you get home from tutoring classes, you can sit in front of the computer without any restraint.
I took a bottle of my favorite drink from the refrigerator, crawled into the cool, air-conditioned room, and listened to my favorite songs while playing my favorite game.
Life is so wonderful these days! I really wish school would never have to start again!
Haha! This is just a daydream I had while lazily sitting under a big tree in the sheep village!
How could school never start again? I just hope that once school starts, there won't be so much homework every day!
In order to complete the homework assigned by the teacher every day, I always sit at my small desk to do my homework after dinner.
I thought that if I did my homework earlier each day, I could go to bed earlier.
But to my surprise, the teacher only assigned us two or three assignments. I thought I could finish them quickly, but it took me an entire evening to complete them.
When I finished the assignments the teacher gave me for the day, I looked up and saw that the clock in my room was already 11:30.
So I quickly washed up and went to bed. I thought that after studying so hard, I would fall asleep as soon as I lay down.
But when I lay in my own little bed, I felt more and more energetic as I slept! And at that time, my brain was in a very active state.
I couldn't help but start to wonder why I had to study so hard? Did I genuinely enjoy reading, or was it because my parents were forcing me to study?
I really envy my parents' childhood! When they were our age, they certainly didn't have as much homework as we did.
Otherwise, how would they have time to look at the stars in their own yard at night? And how come they can go to bed around 8 p.m. every night?
I really envy their childhood! Sometimes I still haven't finished my math homework by 8 pm!
The government said it wanted to reduce the burden on us primary school students! So it implemented a double reduction policy. Not only that, it also increased after-school services for us.
The hope is that we can finish all the homework assigned by the teacher today at school.
Moreover, when we do our homework at school, our subject teachers provide personal guidance, which can help some parents avoid enrolling their children in after-school homework tutoring classes outside of school.
For a period of time, various reasons were used to suppress those after-school tutoring classes.
However, one problem they didn't consider is that today's parents and children are heavily reliant on after-school tutoring classes.
Because in their subconscious, they believe that if their children don't attend extracurricular tutoring classes, their children's grades will fall behind other children.
If the country truly wants to alleviate the burden on children and parents, it should address the problem at its root.
Perhaps nowadays, children are not children in their parents' eyes, but rather tools for their parents to make themselves look good in front of others.
They feel proud when their children get high scores.
If their child gets a bad grade, they feel ashamed in front of others.
