Even women who travel through time can become prime ministers and nobles.

Chapter 131 Choice

Chapter 131 Choice

Li Changyu was taken aback by her bold remarks and didn't know how to refute them. He had heard this girl speak negatively about servants before, but today's words gave him an unprecedented sense of composure and confidence.

The girl before me stood tall and straight, her eyes resolute, as if everything she said was perfectly natural. Her words revealed no fear or hesitation, but rather a yearning for freedom and equality.

Li Changyu gazed at her silently, a complex mix of emotions welling up within him. He began to re-examine this girl, pondering her views and thoughts. Perhaps, she wasn't as ignorant and naive as he had initially thought.

At that moment, Li Changyu realized that the world was changing, and he needed to keep up with the times. He decided to put aside his prejudices, listen carefully to the girl's voice, and try to understand her thoughts.

Seeing Li Changyu lost in thought, the young woman smiled slightly, turned, and boarded the carriage. Her silhouette shone brightly in the sunlight, as if proclaiming her unwavering belief to the world.

“Brother Li, these girls are still young. Since they’re here, let’s arrange for them to come north with us! However, I can take care of myself and don’t need any servants. I know you can’t accept this right now, but if I really need them, I will pay them to help me.”

Shi Wanxia's voice came from inside the carriage. Although her voice was gentle, the tone of refusal was in no way diminished.

Li Changyu sighed softly, glancing at the remaining girls. He wondered if they needed one: "Qingqing, what about you? Perhaps you could choose a personal maid."

Before Li Qinglan could speak, Shuyun and Qinxin stepped forward and bowed. "Young Master Li, we were originally slaves. It was the young lady who restored our freedom. We were forced into this lowly status due to our family's decline. How could we allow a fellow slave to serve us?"

“Miss Shi and you taught us sisters to read and write. What Miss Shi said just now is not without reason. There are no born slaves in this world. We appreciate your kindness, young master. We can take good care of Miss Shi and ourselves. Thank you, young master. We will go back to the carriage now.”

Shuyun and Qinxin were inseparable. They would work together in the same carriage, making clothes and doing embroidery for everyone. Miss Shi had said that women could live for themselves, live wonderfully and freely. The two of them were willing to follow Miss Shi for the rest of their lives, even if they never married.

The three sisters, Li Qinglan and Li Qinglan, bowed to their eldest brother, Li. They had always kept their elder sister's words in mind. In the past, they lived in the village. As women, they only knew that they had to work hard at home, be filial to their parents, and obediently accept the marriages arranged by their families, even if they were unwilling to do so.

But they were powerless and had no voice, nor did they know how or dare to resist, living their lives in a daze. If they hadn't met Sister Shi, how would they have known that women had more possibilities and could also read and write like men? Sister Shi wanted all women in the world to be able to read and write, and to have the courage and right to speak out against injustice.

“Young Master Li, we sisters appreciate your kindness, but we think what Sister Shi said makes perfect sense. The three of us sisters can take care of ourselves and Sister Shi, and we will protect her if we encounter any danger. Don’t worry! We’ll get back to the car now.”

After the three sisters finished speaking, they turned and helped each other into the car, leaving the crowd stunned and puzzled. This girl was truly a strange one. She could spout profound truths so easily, and no one could refute her.

Li Changyu gave a helpless bitter laugh: "Fine, you can each take one car and be responsible for their safety. These girls are kind-hearted, and I hope you understand that what the young mistress said is just her personal opinion, and it is not something that most people can accept."

"If you harbor any improper thoughts, don't blame me for being ruthless. Alright, it's getting late, let's prepare to depart." Li Changyu immediately gave the order, to prevent any unforeseen circumstances, it was better to set off as soon as possible.

Xing Ce was deeply troubled. He completely agreed with what the young mistress had just said. However, having been raised by his third uncle since childhood and always following the young master, he knew all too well what the young master was carrying on his shoulders.

He recalled the hardships his young master had endured, how much he had sacrificed for revenge and the restoration of his kingdom. And he himself had always silently stayed by his young master's side, helping him through difficulties and doing his part.

At this moment, his heart was filled with respect and loyalty to the young master. He decided that no matter what difficulties and challenges they might encounter in the future, he would stand firmly by the young master's side and face them together.

Xing Ce took a deep breath to calm himself, then leaped onto the carriage shaft outside the young master's carriage. "Let's go!" he commanded, and the convoy set off from the inn in a grand procession.

Jeju City was situated at a vital crossroads between the north and south, with a constant stream of merchants and caravans coming and going. Li Changyu and his caravan moved smoothly along the main street.

Merchants and vendors dressed in various colors passed by the main street from time to time, with camels and horses of all kinds, carrying goods. The bustling main street echoed the noisy Jeju City, and soon it was noon.

Sunlight streamed down the street, bringing a touch of warmth. Merchants busily greeted customers, the sounds of bargaining filling the air. A young merchant, dressed in a magnificent silk robe, was negotiating a major deal with a customer. A confident smile graced his face, and he held an account book in his hand, occasionally jotting down notes.

On the other side of the street, an old man sat on a camel, leisurely observing his surroundings. Beside him were some goods, which looked like precious medicinal herbs. His eyes revealed a profound wisdom, as if he had experienced many trials and tribulations.

Suddenly, the sound of hooves shattered the tranquility of the street. A group of knights on tall horses galloped past. They wore gleaming armor, carried longswords, and looked imposing. Merchants stopped what they were doing and watched the soldiers. They stopped at the end of the street, and the centurion at the head of the group dismounted and went into an inn.

The streets were bustling again, with merchants continuing their work and customers selecting their favorite items. The hustle and bustle of Jeju City was like a never-ending symphony, allowing people to feel the city's vitality and charm.

As soon as the caravan reached the city gate, Miss Wang sent men to stop the carriages. Xing Ce immediately pulled the horses to a halt. "Who goes there?"

Wang Fu immediately stepped forward, clasped her hands in a gesture of respect, and exuded an imposing aura. "Young Master Li, my young lady has some things she wishes to say to Miss Shi. Please grant her this favor."
