Chapter 812 - 330: Nether Water Dynasty
Chapter 812 - 330: Nether Water Dynasty
"Don’t go... The pain hasn’t been shared yet..."
Mo yelled as loudly as possible at the three handsome mermaids fleeing.
However, the three handsome mermaids were so terrified that their souls were nearly scared away, not something that a word or two of persuasion could stop.
They didn’t look back, flinging their wide tails into the air, wishing they could grease their entire bodies to flee as far as possible.
"Why run so fast... It was supposed to be very enjoyable."
"Is it that I’m not warm enough as a host, or is it that... they just don’t know how to enjoy themselves?"
In Mo’s dichotomous single eye, all flashed a trace of melancholy, half-anxious, half-bewildered, as if falling into the clouds and mist.
In an instant, three faint ’puff’ sounds rang out.
Looking again, the three handsome mermaids that had escaped couldn’t avoid the fate of exploding to their deaths.
As a faint fishy odor drifted in the sea breeze, another small-scale mermaid blood rain silently stained the Water of the Nether River.
"Don’t kill me! Save me! Save me!"
The last surviving handsome mermaid secreted a pink, unknown viscous substance quickly from the gaps between its scales on its tail.
The excretory organs of fish are mostly distributed over their skin and around their gills.
Had it been scared to the point of wetting itself? It was, after all, of Heaven and Earth Perfection status, must it be so fragile?
"Nether King of the Forbidden Zone, I beg you, spare this little fish!"
"This little fish can’t make waves, I absolutely won’t report your escape to our king..."
GuaGua worked hard to translate, though not achieving simultaneous interpretation, it could still make out most of the important information mentioned by the handsome mermaid.
"Forbidden Zone?" Ye Hanjun raised an eyebrow.
The fake frog-like mermaid GuaGua, hurriedly smacked its lips, using hands and feet to translate the Human Race’s language:
"Hey, this Gua asks you, where is the Forbidden Zone?"
The handsome mermaid stared for a long while, not daring to move an inch.
It took a full ten minutes for it to understand GuaGua’s intended message, and it frantically prostrated itself on the water’s surface, repeatedly kowtowing and pleading:
"It’s that island, that island shrouded in dark clouds, the Isle of Evil!"
"The King of the Forbidden Zone has escaped... you can rest assured! This little fish will definitely not divulge it!"
"I beg you, spare this little fish, I have elders above and young ones below, and I must toil at ten jobs a day, I... I have bowed to you! Please! Wuuwuu!!"
...
Seeing the handsome mermaid crying its heart out, Ye Hanjun and Ye Yin exchanged glances, speechless.
The handsome mermaid race clearly possessed a certain level of intelligence, capable of basic biological communication.
But had it misunderstood something? Where did they look like fish kings, let alone kings of an isolated island?
"Does it mistake us for the rulers of the earth’s veins?"
Ye Yin pursed her lips, as if separated by worlds.
"So, there are intelligent species surviving in the Nether Water, and that island is regarded as a taboo Forbidden Zone in their eyes?"
Ye Hanjun pondered, then immediately instructed:
"GuaGua, ask it again, under what power do the handsome mermaids serve, and are they all from its race who rule the Nether River?"
"Okay, this Gua will translate!"
Excited with a task to do, GuaGua was invigorated.
After some time, the handsome mermaid answered with a trembling voice:
"No, no, no... Our race is only one of the thirteen branches of the Nether Water Dynasty, ranked sixth."
"There are others, like the Zombie Mermaids, Infant Mermaids, Demon Mermaids, Headless Mermaids, Heartless Mermaids, Tailless Mermaids... each race has one or more kings, all referred to by the title ’Fish King’..."
"That sounds quite prosperous!"
Ye Yin exclaimed in surprise:
"The Nether Water Dynasty... The fifteenth layer of the grand tomb harbors such a scale of ecosystem?"
"What kind of scenery might lie in the three layers below?"
"Ah?"
With GuaGua throwing questions left and right, the handsome mermaid became baffled, scared of giving the wrong answers and invoking a fatal disaster.
But when faced with questions it truly couldn’t answer, it dared not respond recklessly, only able to cry and wail:
"Grand tomb? What is a grand tomb, this little fish doesn’t know..."
"This little fish, however, has a map of the Nether Water, with the distribution of the different branches on it..."
"Hand it over, hand it over!"
The mermaid transformed by GuaGua immediately made a demanding gesture.
"Hand it over, hand it over!"
Mo’s eyes lost their spiraling black and white whirlpools, imitating GuaGua’s action, reaching out a tentacle to demand.
"Respected Fish King, here!"
The handsome mermaid plucked a scale from its rear, respectfully handing it to Mo.
This vexed GuaGua greatly; it had been acting as the translator all along, so why, after Mo uttered a single phrase, did the handsome mermaid immediately treat Mo with obeisance?
"Here! To GuaGua!"
Mo flicked the scale to GuaGua with Lightness, as if casually.
There was no hint of currying favor in its tone, not a display of servitude, just the usual communication.
"Humph!"
GuaGua turned its head away, not wanting to see the starfish-shaped Mo.
"Chomp, chomp?"
Mo chewed his tiny mouth, his bloodshot eyes blinking, not understanding why GuaGua was upset.
"Alright, don’t be angry."
Lord Han patted GuaGua’s head, Soothing it, before taking the scale and examining it closely inside and out.
Soon he discovered a micro-engraved pattern carved on the inch-sized scale.
There were wave traces on it, representing the Nether Water.
Additionally, there were thirteen simple-drawn mermaids, scattered or clustered, positioned in various corners.
And in the exact center of the Nether Water, there was a marked black circle.
Beside it were tiny characters, undecipherable to Lord Han as they were the script of a different race.
"The lone island that breeds the evil beast, is it the taboo Forbidden Zone unanimously acknowledged by the Nether Water Dynasty, always guarded with strict vigilance, and deeply feared?"
