Chapter 3889 The Nameless Bat (Fifty-Nine)
"Phew...almost finished." The Flash let out a long sigh. Looking at the unprecedentedly massive furnace before him, he said with some admiration, "I never imagined this thing would be so magnificent, and capable of storing so much power..."
Green Lantern, standing beneath the furnace, said, "Those damn Guardians of the Universe must have taken a lot of kickbacks. To fill such a huge furnace to the brim, we must have made at least 200 trips, right?"
Barry simply crossed his arms, shook his head helplessly, and said, "Don't you guys think there's anything wrong with the style of this lamp stove?"
"Is something wrong?" The two of them looked up at each other simultaneously.
The enormous lamp is over ten meters tall. Although it looks similar in shape to the lamps commonly used by the Green Lanterns—a round jar with a large lamp in front—it doesn't have the Green Lanterns' symbol in the center; instead, it features a bat.
"Why does Batman like bats so much?" Barry asked. "Does he have to carve bats all over everything?"
“Oh, you mean this?” The Flash shrugged. “He made this thing, so it’s not a problem to put his mark on it. I think it looks better than the green light sign.”
“Of course,” Green Lantern said coldly. “The green lantern symbol was designed by the Guardians of the Universe, and it makes me sick just looking at it. Once the war is completely over, we’ll vote to choose our own design, instead of those bastards’ logo.”
“Don’t let Batman participate in the vote,” Barry said, “or you’ll have to change your name to ‘Green Bat Corps,’ which sounds like some kind of vegan gathering.”
“Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore,” Flash interrupted them, then said, “Now that the energy is back, we should be able to start building the magical defense network, right? I heard that Batman transformed his seven safe houses around the world into the pillars of the magical defense network. As long as the energy is poured in according to a certain method, Earth will have its own shield.”
“That was originally the plan, but things have changed.” The main universe Batman walked in and said, “I need to charge my armor, and then we’ll go to Mount Olympus.”
The three of them turned to look at him simultaneously. The main universe Batman continued expressionlessly, "The Hellbat armor I was controlling before had an improved version developed, but because there wasn't enough energy to power it, it could only be kept as a decoration in the Batcave. Now it's finally coming in handy. You all come with me."
The three followed him from a special secret chamber at the bottom of the Batcave to the first level. There was a plaza specifically for parking vehicles, but the Batmobiles and Batplanes had been stored in the adjacent hangar. At this moment, only a mech workbench and a very cool-looking mech were present.
The Hellbat armor is black and red, covered in spikes, and has a pair of huge mechanical wings on its back. The mask has also been changed to a full-coverage design, made of non-reflective frosted metal, with only a red "V"-shaped eye patch for the eyes. The pointed bat ears have been shortened and changed from standing upright to slightly curved forward, and the bat pattern on the chest and the belt have turned bright red.
Both Green Lantern and Flash were seeing this armor for the first time, and they both exclaimed in amazement. Flash walked around the armor a few times and said, "My God, this is so cool. How come you've never worn one before?"
"After my last trip to Apokolips, I discovered even more shortcomings. Since I learned a trick from a mecha master from the neighboring world, I modified it to have an external power source. However, the energy required to power this armor is too much, and until I get enough energy, I can only put it aside. Fortunately, the energy problem has now been solved, and it can see the light of day again."
The main universe's Batman picked up a pyramid-shaped crystal from the workbench beside him. The Flash leaned over to look at it and said, "I think I know who this Jaeger Master you're talking about is. When I found out that someone had a reactor embedded in their chest, I wanted to run away as fast as I could; and when I found out that the reactor was hot-swappable, I even wanted to quit the Fighter universe."
Green Lantern looked at him with some confusion. The Flash said in a low voice, "Tony Stark. You've seen that annoying guy in the Fighting World, haven't you? He's incredibly arrogant, but he's got some skills in mechanical engineering. That reactor in his chest can even charge my phone."
"Then how dare you say someone is annoying?"
"Just because I needed to use that reactor to charge my phone, I had to listen to him complain the whole way. You have no idea how fussy he is..."
The main universe's Batman ignored their whispered conversation and simply placed the crystal in a slot next to the mech's workbench. The pipes gradually lit up, and the power of the seven lamps sealed in the furnace below caused the energy pipes to emit a seven-colored light. When it was transported into the crystal, it made the otherwise ordinary gem dazzling.
After charging was complete, the crystal flashed. The main universe Batman lost power, picked up the crystal again, and inserted it into the slot on the chest of the Hellbat armor.
In an instant, the mecha emitted a faint red light, and the subtle grinding sound of gears rang out one after another, as if the entire mecha had come to life.
In the main universe, Batman pressed a button, and the mech was placed on the ground. He walked over, his back to the mech, which then fitted him like a well-fitting suit of clothing.
"How is it?" The voice of the main universe Batman became even deeper and hoarse after being processed by the Hellbat Armor.
“My God, you sound so evil,” the Flash said. “Like one of those evil robots that could destroy the world at any moment.”
“I only have one question,” Green Lantern said, “who are you planning to fight while wearing this?”
His implication was: You weren't wearing it when you faced Darkseid and defeated the Guardian of the Universe, and now you're bringing it out? Are you planning to attack Heaven?
“If I really have to fight someone, I won’t wear it.” The main universe Batman shook his head and said, “You know I’m not the kind of person who relies too much on violence. The most important function of this suit is deterrence.”
Green Lantern nodded repeatedly, with an "Ah, right, right" expression, and then asked, "So who are you planning to intimidate with it?"
“Of course, it’s the gods of Olympus,” said the main universe Batman. “I’ve gotten a huge amount of energy from my counterparts in other universes, at least two-thirds of ours—that’s the combined amount of all the gods, of course. I don’t need that much; a third is enough to keep me ahead. So rather than raiding their base, I think I can talk to them.”
"Would Diana agree?" the Flash couldn't help but ask.
“If I wear this and make this request to her, she’ll definitely agree,” the main universe Batman said. “And she’ll be glad that I’m just going to rob her, instead of planning to slaughter the whole family like my counterpart.”
“You’ve really changed a lot, Batman,” the Flash said, shaking his head. “You never used to talk about robbery so confidently.”
"I just don't know how to say it. Okay, what was it again? — Justice League Assemble."
Ten minutes later, Superman and Wonder Woman, watching Batman fully equipped, didn't even bother to listen to his plan. As soon as the meeting ended, Superman immediately began rubbing his hands together in anticipation.
"Quick! Batman! Let's spar a bit!" Superman mimicked a football player warming up before a game, saying, "I won't bully you, it's a cloudy day. If you can withstand three of my moves, I'll support you no matter what you do!"
"Stop fooling around, Clark!" Wonder Woman snapped at him, then said, "Batman should have a spar with me first. That way we can verify the extent to which the armor is affected by divine power. If we can't determine that, won't it be very dangerous when facing the gods?"
After saying that, she looked at the main universe's Batman and said, "I don't object to you going to Mount Olympus, Batman. But the prerequisite is that you have to be able to beat me, a demigod, first. Otherwise, my old father and hundreds of brothers and sisters will give you a hard time."
“Let’s give it a try,” said the main universe Batman. “Do you think if I wore this suit to the Battlegrounds, they’d mistake me for Iron Man?”
"You're way cooler than Iron Man." Superman flew up and landed between the two to act as referee. "Three, two, one, go!"
Without any fancy techniques, the two figures collided. Wonder Woman unleashed most of her divine power, and the magical energy on the chest of her Hellbat armor grew increasingly bright.
boom!
A small burst of energy blasted both of them away. As the dust settled, Wonder Woman cautiously looked around, only to be thrown back the instant she sensed the energy fluctuation.
But while airborne, she suddenly twisted her body, her superhuman strength reappearing as she crossed her arms in front of her chest to block Batman's next attack. Upon landing, he retaliated with a kick, and Batman's mechanical wing flexibly extended, blocking Wonder Woman's attack.
Realizing she couldn't kick him at all, Wonder Woman used the kicking motion to flip upwards, landing behind Batman and delivering another punch straight for his back. But Batman vanished in an instant.
"What's going on?" Wonder Woman frowned slightly. "You called in The Flash for backup?"
“Of course not,” the main universe Batman reappeared and said. “This armor can reach sub-light speed at maximum output.”
"Won't you be alright?" Superman asked, somewhat shocked.
"Of course, it wouldn't work without the protection of magical energy. But now the energy is sufficient, and the internal magical shield can ensure that the internal space remains in a constant state, so I will be fine."
"My God, this is amazing. My highest cruising speed is only about sub-light speed." Superman shook his head and said, "You can fly as fast as me with a mech—I really made the right choice coming to Earth."
“Actually, I’m going to build you a mech,” the main universe Batman said. “It will convert magical energy into the yellow solar energy you need, so you can continue fighting even without the sun. What do you think?”
"That sounds good, but you're not going to put kryptonite in there again, are you?"
"Of course. I even designed a special slot on the gauntlet to store kryptonite, completely isolated from the interior by magical energy. You can use it to fight other Supermen."
"Why would I fight other Supermen?" Superman couldn't help but say. "Although there are a few of us with bad tempers, most Supermen love each other. We even exchange recipes and help our counterparts finish their manuscripts. It's nothing like how you guys are at each other's throats."
Even Wonder Woman couldn't help but sigh and say, "Sometimes I really envy your naivety, Clark."
“You don’t seem surprised that I’d go and rob Mount Olympus, ma’am,” the main universe Batman said, looking at Wonder Woman.
"Yes, because your good friend Wonder Woman from the universe warned us in the group chat a while ago: if Batman tricks us into going to some dark room recently, don't go. She's already been locked up. Luckily, Batman's target was Mount Olympus, and he didn't really want to do anything to her, otherwise we would have had to go and rescue her together."
"What on earth are you doing?" Superman asked, somewhat bewildered. "Is something happening in the multiverse that I don't know about?"
"How long has it been since you last checked the Battlegrounds news?" the main universe Batman asked.
"I've been stuck in space for too long, so I have to pull all-nighters to finish my draft. I've blocked all social media, what's going on?"
As Superman spoke, he opened the Doujie communication channel. As soon as he opened it, tens of thousands of messages flooded the group.
