Chapter 4004 MU: The Superbody Incident (84)

"Prepare to fire!" Hal shouted from behind a green-light ship. "All units, pay attention! Don't hold back! You must use your ships to suppress enemy fire before approaching, focusing on their shields. I repeat, don't hold back! Don't hold back!"

Even without him saying so, the Green Lanterns wouldn't hold back. Please, that's the Sorcerer Supreme! Doctor Strange and his ilk are very active in the battlegrounds; many have faced them and been beaten up by them countless times. No one will show mercy at this moment. If their firepower isn't sufficient, they'll be the ones who die.

Soon, the Green Lantern Fleet gradually deployed, slowly surrounding the mages who were defending the outposts. All the ship's cannons preheated and, once fully charged, countless green lights covered the entire battlefield like a spiderweb.

This completely stunned Doctor Strange.

They had considered the possibility of being attacked, but the kind of attack they imagined was like a medieval duel: a group of people rushing in, each taking on one person. You didn't say this had evolved into interstellar warfare!

It's not entirely their fault. His teacher, the Ancient One, had the most experience in space combat. In most of the universe, since Stephen Strange became the Sorcerer Supreme, humanity's defenses have been largely confined to Earth. Doctor Strange generally doesn't cause trouble in space, and even if he occasionally encounters the three great empires, they wouldn't be so foolish as to attack him first. Even if they did, the cannons of conventionally powered spaceships wouldn't pose much of a threat to him.

But the Green Lantern spaceship is different; it carries the energy of the real emotional spectrum, equivalent to bombarding the entire cosmic origin of the neighboring world with its full force. You are the primal force, and so am I; let's see who has the greater power.

Clearly, the Green Lantern Fleet had the upper hand, as they not only outnumbered the ships but also coordinated their forces effectively. After each round of fire from their ships, the Green Lanterns immediately followed up with continued attacks, employing alternating firing positions, rounds of fire, and a combination of laser-like and explosive-like weapons. In short, they filled the space with Green Lantern energy, blasting away the mages before they could even unleash their magic.

Doctor Strange from the main universe waved his hand, and a golden energy array appeared before him, aimed at a spaceship. But just before the magical energy could be released, a laser beam suddenly struck him from behind. Doctor Strange from the main universe groaned and was sent flying.

Before he could even regain his footing, he was targeted by the cannons of two nearby spaceships, and then two beams of green energy, thicker than himself, rained down on him. If it weren't for his cloak pulling him upwards rapidly, he would have been washed from head to toe by the green energy.

After the boost, Doctor Strange from the main universe was about to activate the Suspended Ring to bypass the portal, but the moment he opened the portal, he found that the energy interference was too strong. The portal only flashed twice and closed in less than two seconds. Doctor Strange from the main universe didn't even have time to get in.

He tried to open it again, and this time it was a little better, but the landing point was not where he wanted it at all—he used Flash to Flash right in Hal's face.

Hal didn't hold back, charging forward with a punch, followed by a spinning side kick, an uppercut, and a final whip kick. Green Lantern energy enveloped his entire body, and in just three moves, he shattered Doctor Strange's shield in the main universe.

The cloak dragged Doctor Strange from the main universe as they fled for their lives, but the Green Lantern from the main universe reappeared behind him and kicked him into the muzzle of a nearby spaceship's cannon. With a whoosh, the green lantern energy surging from the cannon sent Doctor Strange flying.

Doctor Strange, having lost his shield in the main universe, was knocked unconscious by the direct hit. Strange looked around and, finding no one paying attention to him, rushed over and pulled him back, only to discover that the guy wasn't even wearing life support.

"Do you even remember you're human?!" Strange cursed inwardly. Mages, having lost their magic, were no different from ordinary humans. Forget a vacuum; at this temperature, he'd freeze to death in seconds.

Fortunately, Strange had brought a few extra rings. He quickly put one on Doctor Strange in the main universe, flew him to the back of the outpost, cast a shield on him, and then left him there. Several more had already been left behind the outpost.

That's right. In just one encounter, the unsuspecting Doctor Strange team lost several members, and these weren't weak Doctor Stranges; most of them were quite capable.

Strange couldn't help but sigh, "Indeed, arrogance is humanity's greatest enemy."

Although it was a bit out of place, Strange still thought: Look at the Green Lanterns, they are fighting on the sidelines, so of course they should conserve energy, but they still launched a saturation attack right from the start. This is obviously enough to be vigilant and respectful of their opponent, and they have also grasped Doctor Strange's weakness very well.

Don't be fooled by the higher energy levels in Marvel universes; many of them are actually quite poor. The mages, who are among the richest in their respective universes, are practically penniless here. Moreover, they don't listen to Strange's advice or ask for his help, leaving them with only the amount of energy they brought with them. Their shields are as thin as paper, and a single saturation attack would wipe them out.

Strange sighed inwardly and quickly dimmed the brightness of his shield to avoid being spotted. But as luck would have it, the Green Lantern from the main universe had already discovered this strange Doctor Strange.

If you say he's not strong, he dares to rescue people right under the muzzle of the Green Lantern ship, seemingly without any concern that his shield will be broken; if you say he's strong, he's still a medic, only saving people and not fighting, and when he does fight, it's obvious he's not going all out, so you don't know if he's just slacking off or if there's a mole among them.

The main universe's Green Lantern flew directly towards Strange's direction, but was stopped by Hal halfway there.

“Let’s go together,” Hal said. “You might not be able to beat him by yourself.”

"You know him?"

"I've heard of him. He should be a local, the Doctor Strange from this central universe. People from this universe are not easy to deal with, so we need to be careful."

The two flew towards Strange's direction. Strange also realized their intentions, but since his comrades were still standing on the battlefield, he had to at least put on a show.

So he waved his cloak, clasped his hands together, and then opened them, revealing a golden energy-gathering array in the center of his palms. His eyes, fixed on the other man, shone with light, displaying the demeanor of a supreme mage.

Hal wasn't about to back down, throwing a straight punch at his opponent's face. Strange quickly pulled back, and two golden beams shot down from above Hal's head, followed by a large, golden phantom hand reaching for the Green Lantern from the main universe.

The main universe's Green Lantern quickly dodged, instinctively punching the hand in the way, only to immediately sense something was wrong. He yelled at Hal, "Something's not right!"

Hal roared inwardly: Of course something's wrong! Only upon closer inspection did he realize that the guy's shield was filtered; the brightness was manually adjusted, making it appear quite dark, but it was actually ridiculously thick. His punch nearly broke a finger.

Unbeknownst to him, Strange was also cursing inwardly: Schiller always said that Stark's fighting skills were the worst in the Avengers, but in reality, if you include him, he is the worst—he can't even do close-quarters combat!

He's even worse at fighting than the other Doctors Strange because he used to never need to fight; he could kill his opponents just by blasting them with energy. Now that he can't use energy, he's completely lost his fighting ability!

Looking at the two people in front of him, they were either special agents or athletes—in short, top-notch physical skills, clearly trained professionals. Strange inwardly groaned: What to do? He couldn't just rely on his thick shield to be a punching bag, could he?

After thinking for a while, Strange decided to create some distance first. He could always run away with the two of them, since reinforcements would arrive soon anyway.

The two Green Lanterns, unaware that he was slacking off, assumed he was preparing a powerful attack. They dared not get too close, knowing the mage was indeed very strong, and a direct hit would be disastrous for them.

And so, each with their own agenda, one dared to run, the other dared to pursue. Strange fought and retreated, while Green Lantern pursued and fought, both slacking off, preparing to hand the problem over to reinforcements.

“No problem, Batman.” The Flash’s voice came through the comms. “There’s no troop buildup on Earth. Their starport on Pluto is quiet. Several large destroyers have their engines on, but they haven’t moved, and there’s no one on board. I’ve checked everything, so don’t worry.”

Then Flash from the Andromeda Galaxy said, "The mutants here haven't moved, and the ships parked here haven't been ignited, so it should be fine."

The main universe's Batman nodded and said, "Get into position, prepare to move."

By this time, several reinforcement teams were in position. Martian Manhunter Ron activated his anti-psychic invasion mode; if they could hold off Professor X for a while, they could at least destroy one wave of reinforcements.

"Wait!" a Flash suddenly shouted in the channel, "The Asgardian base!!"

"What?" The main universe Batman quickly pulled up the surveillance footage.

"The Asgardian base... is gone!!!"

"What?!!!"

The main universe Batman's screen transitions are slower, leaving only a faint glow on the screen, while the dwarf planet that should have been at the very center of the horizon has completely disappeared.

Looking at that beam of light, the main universe Batman understood everything: they didn't need to assemble their forces at all; their base had a faster-than-light warp drive!

The main universe's Batman took a deep breath, his mind racing: a planet-level faster-than-light warp drive...

At this moment, he understood just how advanced humanity had become in this universe. Even Apokolips didn't have such technology, nor did the Blue People—if they had, Oa wouldn't have fallen into Darkseid's hands.

No, perhaps they could build such a large faster-than-light engine, but they couldn't guarantee the planet wouldn't fall apart during the jump. The humans here, however, can, because they have a magical defense network.

Having figured everything out, the main universe immediately realized that his plan to besiege the enemy and lure reinforcements was doomed to fail, and the enemy would likely launch a counter-encirclement immediately. He had no choice but to tell his bewildered teammates on the communicator, "Their main force is here. Now, attempt a free breakout, and I will send someone to meet you."

In the eyes of the superheroes, a dwarf planet suddenly appeared amidst a warp light, and hundreds of warships instantly took to the skies. Roars echoed in their ears:

"For the Father of the Gods! For Asgard! Long live His Majesty the King of Gods!!!"
